Your privacy matters here, especially on a publication built around the idea that people don't need to reveal everything about themselves online.

Unmarked Bounty is an independently published newsletter. I collect only the personal information reasonably necessary to operate the site, send the newsletter, understand how subscribers engage with it, and respond when readers contact me.

Newsletter subscriptions

If you subscribe to Unmarked Bounty, the information you provide, such as your email address and, if you choose to provide it, your name, is stored through Ghost, the platform used to publish and distribute this newsletter.

I use this information to manage your subscription and send you Unmarked Bounty emails.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in newsletter emails.

This is Ghost's general privacy policy and covers the different ways people interact with Ghost's services, including people who create and operate publications. Not all of the types of personal information described there are collected from people who simply subscribe to Unmarked Bounty.

Analytics and newsletter engagement

Unmarked Bounty does not currently use website visitor analytics.

If you subscribe to the newsletter, Ghost records whether you open emails from Unmarked Bounty and whether you click links within them. This helps me understand whether people are reading the newsletter and which content readers find useful. Ghost's newsletter analytics can associate opens and clicks with individual members.

Ghost may also record the source through which new members discovered Unmarked Bounty when they sign up, such as a referring website or the page through which they joined. I use this information to understand how new readers are finding the publication.

I don't use this information to build personal profiles of individual readers, and I don't sell information about your activity.

If you contact me

If you email me, I'll receive the information you choose to include in your message, along with your email address and any name associated with it.

I'll use that information to read and, where appropriate, respond to your message.

Sharing your information

I don't sell or rent subscriber information.

Personal information may be processed by services necessary to operate Unmarked Bounty, including Ghost and relevant email, hosting or infrastructure providers.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law.

Because some technology providers operate internationally, personal information may be processed or stored in different countries.

How long information is kept

I keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, or where retention is required by law.

If you unsubscribe, some information may still need to be retained for legitimate administrative, legal or record-keeping purposes.

Accessing or correcting your information

If I hold personal information about you, you may ask to access it or request that inaccurate information be corrected.

Unmarked Bounty contains links to other websites. Once you follow a link to another site, that site's own privacy practices apply. I don't control how third-party websites collect or use information.

Changes to this page

As Unmarked Bounty grows, the services I use may change. I'll update this page if there are meaningful changes to how personal information is collected or handled.
